How to decide whether you should buy a laptop or a desktop computer

First of all you have to know if money is a problem for you, since portable solutions are generally more expensive and more difficult to maintain/upgrade than desktop solutions. Also, you have to consider the fact that desktop computers are usually more powerful than laptops, so if you need a lot of processing power, a desktop computer is what you need.

If money doesn't represent a problem, then you should read the following uses for a laptop and a desktop computer:

A portable solution (laptop) is suitable when:

.  your job implies working in different locations

.  you travel a lot and you want to stay in touch with your friends and/or family

.  you don't like the idea of a computer you cannot carry around the house while working or chatting with your friends

.  you know a thing or two about wireless networking, so you can be online wherever you are

A desktop solution (desktop computer) is appropriate when:

.  you can work at home and you can send the data to your employer through the internet

.  you need a lot of processing power and you don't get that at work or you are a freelance programmer or graphics designer (for example, 3D graphics requires large amounts of processing power and memory)

.  you just need it to watch movies (you can connect it to your TV), play games and/or surf the internet

.  you enjoy working at your desk at home

.  you prefer the stability and speed of a LAN or optic fiber internet connection over the wireless solutions provided by laptops

We hope our guide helps you in making your decision.
