How to lose fat naturally

Dieting is when people eat in a carefully planned way to try an reduce excess body fat.

Low fat diets encourage people to eat foods low in fat and high in protein. Too much excess fat in a diet increases body weight.. Protein, however, is required by the body to preserve muscle tissue. So a combination of a low fat, high protein diet tends to work.

Different approaches to losing weight

Atkins

Discourages intake of carbohydrates and encourages consumption of a very high protein diet. Lots of meat, nuts, unsweetened fruits and vegetables that are very in high in protein are to be taken. This way you can lose weight very fast, although it continues to be disputed whether this is due to a metabolic advantage of ketosis (metabolism stage), some of the initial rapid weight is because of the depletion of glycogen stores in liver. Any successful diet for losing weight will cause some ketosis, since the ketosis are produced when the body is using fat energy to synthesize glucose during a long overnight sleep. Atkins has received a lot of bad publicity recently due to its possible links with heart disease.

Vegetarian diet

Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass indices than the non-vegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from heart disease. As for their weight vegetarians on average weight 10% less than non-vegetarians.

Specially formulated diets

Very low calorie diet is a special diet that must be taken with medical supervision. It can offer you a rapid fat loss but it is dangerous too. It consists of the consumption of a special solution mixed with 200-300ml of water and must be taken three times a day. This is very similar to a milkshake and provides 456 cal per day when is consumed at breakfast, lunch or dinner. It has all necessary vitamins and minerals, although there is a risk involved of overdosing with selenium if a person consumes more than the suggests.

Aerobic exercise

This is the most recommended way of losing fat naturally. It assumes no strict diet but encourages good clean eating with regular excercise, perhaps 3/4 times a week. This will work to keep your body trim but avoid strict dieting programs that are often very difficult to sustain.

Fat needs oxygen to burn completely, so if you want to burn fat during exercise you have to move slowly and smoothly. This will enable muscle cells to be supplied with enough oxygen to continue it's aerobic capacity and using fat as the main energy source. This is why slow jogging or fast walking is considered better than sprinting/running.

A non-natural way of losing fat

An alternative to losing fat naturally is to have weight loss surgery comprises a range of surgical procedures designed to alleviate obesity in patients (examples: stomach bypass, stomach stapling, stomach balloon). This weight surgery is a serious surgical operation and carries many risks of a major surgical procedure. Obese people frequently use this surgery. The patients are screened for suitability and advised that any surgery like this will have to be accompanied by lifestyle changes such as increased physical exercise to maintain the slimmer appearance.
