How to control acne

A lot of people are concerned with acne control today because of all of the stress in their lives, as well as poor diets and a harsh environment that can lead them to have acne. Thankfully there are numerous ways in which a person can both fight off acne and provide yourself with acne control.

•  In order to minimize any further outbreaks, you need to take good care of your skin. Proper acne skin care is very important.

•  Do not use any harsh chemical products that may irritate your skin

•  Make sure that you are scrubbing your face gently. Otherwise the problem will only be intensified.

•  Only wash your face two times a day: once in the morning and once in the evening.

•  Avoid the sun as much as possible. The sun will not dry up acne, it will only enhance it because acne increases the sensitivity of your skin.

•  Many of the products that are aimed at combating acne will only serve to make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

•  Do not use suntan lotion on your face because it is oil-based and will clog your pores even more.

•  Wear a hat and sunglasses whenever you must be in the sun, otherwise avoid the sun as much as possible.

•  Whenever men shave they should use a sharp disposable razor and soap.

•  Women need to avoid oil-based makeup as it will only increase acne flare-ups. Make sure to wash all makeup off thoroughly every night.

•  Make sure that you are eating a good diet and drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water each day.

•  Get 8 or 9 hours of sleep each night.

•  Take fish oil supplements on a regular basis. This will keep the production of excessively oily skin in check.

•  Wash your face with mild, soap-free cleansers. These include Cetaphil, Dove, Purpose and Neutrogena. This will keep your skin clear of dirt and surface impurities.

•  An exfoliating cream or masque that is not too abrasive will work well for controlling your acne as it will gently peel away your dead skin cells.

•  One acne product that you should use to rid your face of excessive oil is an astringent or toner. Make sure that the one you choose contains either benzoyl peroxide or sulfur. Be careful that you do not dry your skin out too much whenever you use these products.

•  Keep stress to a minimum.
