| How to get rid of cullulite
This guides provides comprehensive information on different ways of getting rid of cellulite. Some of these are relatively expensive methods, while others can be done without any cost.
One thing to bear in mind is that cellulite does not only affect people that are overweight, it can also affect people who look relatively trim and in good shape. Women are usually affected mainly due to the female hormone called estrogen.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is small pockets of fat that cause the skin in certain areas especially the hips and thighs to become blotchy and uneven. This is because the fatty tissue below the skin in the affected areas alters lymph circulation enough to lead to the bulging of concentrated fat.
The cause of cellulite is due to the hormone estrogen, excess production of which leads to breaking down of collagen in the fatty tissue thus leading to cellulite.
Here are various treatments for cellulite
- Liposuction
- Mesotherapy
- Exercise
- Diet
- Cosmetic cellulite creams
- Skin exfoliation
Liposuction
This is the most effective treatment for cellulite. A liposuction is normally used when all other cheaper alternatives have ceased to work. Liposuction isn't cheap and requires a surgery.
Liposuction is an invasive surgery that requires an opening through a cut using a surgical knife in the area to be treated. It involves the process of removing fat or cellulite by suction. The surgeon will then use suction called microcanulla to get rid of the excess fat.
Mesotherapy
Mesotheraphy is a technique that can be used to treat cellulite. Mesotherapy involves the concoction of a formula developed with traditional or natural ingredients, specifically for the type of problem to be treated, which in this case is cellulite and then injected in to the afflicted area.
Exercise
Exercise is the most natural and cost effective way to treat cellulite. Aerobic exercise like jogging and cycling are great ways to reduce fat. Regular exercise will get rid of fat and tone up muscles, hopefully making the skin firmer and more radiant as well. However, this is not likely to get rid of cellulite altogether.
Weight training
One way to have cellulite reduction is through lifting weights.
Women should not be concerned about lifting weights. It is often the case that many women fear that lifting will cause them to bulk up and develop manly characteristics. However, this isn't true. Women do not produce the required levels of testosterone to develop a bulky physique. Lifting light weights - but heavy enough to stimulate fat loss - will only tone the body and help to reduce or even get rid of cellulite altogether by firming up the muscles covered by the cellulite.
It is important that you have total body work out. If you do not have much time, then you should opt for compound exercises such as squats, which great at firming the buttocks, legs, and the whole lower body. These put strain on the whole body rather than just one, maybe two specific muscle groups.
Diet
Although in many cases cellulite is a problem that can even afflict people with relatively low body fat, it can nevertheless help those with excess body fat to have a diet consisting of low fat, high protein meals. They should aim to restrict carbohydrate intake or even completely avoid it in the evening.
Try and keep fat down to no more than 30% of your daily calories. Again fat should be avoided, if at all possible in the evening. Your evening meals should be high protein diet.
Creams
Applying creams can make cellulite less obvious. There are plenty of creams available at all good chemists that do a pretty good job at hiding cellulite, However, you should bear in mind that cellulite creams will not actually get rid of cellulite, only hide it.
Skin Exfoliation
Skin exfoliation is not just for the face. Use a good skin exfoliator to rub and massage gently into the cellulite affected areas. This will help to get rid of dead skin cells at the outermost layer of the skin and hopefully expose healthier skin.
