How to lose cellulite

Cellulite is a compilation of lumpy fat deposits that lack the tone and softness of most fat. The cause of cellulite in most people is widely accepted to be that the existing fat is hardened and distorted by waste products, such as fats, retained fluids and toxins, which have not been expelled from the body.

There are products out there that are supposedly conditioned to help treat cellulite. They claim that they help you “shake it off”, “burn it off”, “brush it off”, “rub it off”, treat it with drugs, use shock therapy, and even lose weight in target spots. Unfortunately, only a consistently good diet plan and exercise remove cellulite unless you choose surgery.

Cellulite creams will not aid in cellulite reduction, but in masking cellulite. It moisturizes the skin in such a way that it adds tone and elasticity so cellulite is less noticeable. Upon discontinuing use of the creams, cellulite reappears.

The only immediate cure is surgery. The average reported cost of this surgery is only $503, but as with any non-emergency procedure, you will want to price around. All surgeons charge different amounts of money for their services. You may want to find a surgeon who does not specialize in cosmetic procedures that will perform the service to cut costs. Specialists are always more expensive.

The best cure for cellulite and keeping it away is changing your diet and lifestyle. This means you must:

  • Drink two liters of water daily
  • Give up caffeine as caffeine makes you retain water
  • Give up fried foods and excessive amounts of butter
  • Exercise the effected areas of the body
  • Practice Yoga if desired for an overall effective fat burning exercise
  • Take up weight training to burn fat and add tone to your body
  • Consume a good daily amount of Vitamin C
  • Avoid sodium
  • Eat natural foods with little additives and no MSG
