How to prevent acne
A lot of people, regardless of their age, are embarrassed by the fact that they have acne. This is something that more than 85% of humans have experienced at least once in their life. Luckily, there are some ways to prevent acne, such as:
Avoid moisturizers and sunscreen lotions that have oil in them. However, you do need to use sunscreen as part of your acne prevention because sunlight can damage and irritate your skin.
Another form of acne control is prescription medications such as Retin-A and Accutane. However, these medications can make the skin more sensitive to sun exposure, so make sure to wear sunscreen.
Acne cleansers are too harsh and by washing your face with these too many times each day you will do more harm than good because acne is not caused by poor hygiene. Instead, you should choose a mil soap or cleanser to only use in the morning and in the evening.
Only use warm water and soap to remove your makeup. Your makeup should be either “non-somedogenic” or “non-acnegenic.” These products were specifically made so as not to cause an acne breakout.
Avoid using astringents because they contain alcohol, which will dry your skin out.
A good acne diet also exists. On this diet you will want to eat less grains, especially whole grains, caffeine, sugar, dairy and salmon. You should eat more foods that are high in Zinc and vitamin A, such as red meat, fish, liver, vegetables and dairy products. Foods that are acidic can also help to fight off acne. Vitamin E has antioxidants in it that will help you to have clear skin too. This vitamin is found in almonds, broccoli and wheat germ.
It is also important that you get your “beauty rest.” While you may have thought that this was only a joke, it is not. You really do need at least 8 hours of sleep each night in order for your body to be able to fight off any bacteria that may be developing under your skin. Sleep is also able to combat any stress that is placed upon your body is well. This is important because stress can also lead to acne.
Taking Vitamin B-2 is also helpful because it will relieve stress, which can cause acne.
Make sure that you wash your hair whenever it is oily and only use a light application of hair styling products. This is because they can leave a greasy residue on your skin.
You can apply diluted tea tree oil to your skin. This will refresh your skin and also get rid of your acne.
During the onset of acne, applying ice to your face will keep blemishes from popping up.
Regardless of what you read here, you should always do what your doctor tells you. This is because each form of acne will need to be treated differently. Nevertheless, doing all of the aforementioned things will also enable your to effectively control skin acne.
