| How to remove facial hair
Unwanted facial hair can affect both men and women. Unwanted facial hair is a particular problem for women because it is not feminine and can be embarrassing.
What causes unwanted facial hair?
Unwanted facial hair is usually caused by heredity, excess production of androgen. Also, side effects of some medcation might be afactor.
Here are some options that people can use to remove facial hair. Most of them are temporary and not permanent facial hair removal options.
Laser facial hair removal
Laser facial hair removal provides a more permanent solution to removing unwanted hair. This is particularly good for removing facial hair for women because of the acute embarrassment that facial hair can cause.
Laser facial hair removal treatment involves destroying hair follicles that produce the unwanted hair by emitting heat through light along the hair shaft and on to the root of the hair. By destroying the follicles, it is hoped they would no longer be capable of hair regrowth.
Home remedy for facial hair removal
Depilatory cream
The best home remedy for removing facial hair is depilatory cream. Depilatory creams are formulated using special chemicals that act to soften the hair at the root thus making it easy for it to be removed. Depilatory creams for hair removal usually contain chemicals such as sodium thioglycolate, calcium thioglycolate, to weaken the hair below the skin, which would then come out.
Shaving
This is unobvious way most men use to remove facial hair. Shaving, however, is a temporary solution because it usually grows back very quickly. Also, it may not be ideal to shave off unwanted hair that is in between eyebrows for example.
Facial hair removal wax
Wax can be used to remove facial hair. Unfortunately, this is not a permanent facial hair removal method because the hair follicles start sprouting new hair after a few weeks. However, it can provide hair free face for several weeks in the interim.
Waxing involves putting wax on affected area and letting it settle for a while, hopefully, the hairs will come out from the root when the wax is pulled off the skin.
Tweezing
Tweezing involves gripping hair strands using a pair of tweezers and then pulling. Again, this is not a permanent hair removal solution and the hair usually grows back quite quickly.
Tweezing is OK for areas with very little unwanted hair and hair that is quite fine. More coarse and thicker hair can cause pain. It is certainly not recommended for those with substantial amount of unwanted hair.
