How to limit the affects of ageing All of us are going to get old unless some other event takes our life early. As we get old we want to take measures to limit the effects of the biological ageing process. There are steps we can take to limit the ageing process however each of these steps are not certain preventative measures in and of their own. Plus there are no sure bets that following these steps will prolong your life as individual results will vary. Also, many of the steps used to limit ageing affects have not been proven and are only statements made after analysis and research. First of all, the best way to limit ageing effects on one's mind is to keep it very active. It is said that as a person ages if he or she gets involved in activities that make the mind think that it will drastically reduce the effects of Alzheimer's disease. A person can keep the mind active by playing card games for instance. Get your weight down if you are overweight. Keep in mind that you put your body through a lot of extra work if it has to carry more load than it needs to. However, do not starve yourself to lose weight. This can be just as bad if not worse than having the excess weight. Keep a positive outlook if you can. When you have a hopeless, pessimistic attitude then over time this will quench your survival spirit and you will begin to age much faster. It is well known that when you have negative emotions running through your system that you make yourself susceptible to adverse bodily reactions as well as having an effect on your immune system. Let's face it, any good measures you can take to help the physical health of your body will have a positive impact on limiting the affects of ageing.
