How to tell signs of ectopic pregnancy

You can have a positive pregnancy test; however, there are a few complications such as ectopic pregnancy that can bring your dreams to a halt. Knowing the signs and of an ectopic pregnancy symptoms can save you quite a bit of grieve and will even save your life.

An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that is not in the uterus. In an ectopic pregnancy, a fertilized egg settles and grows in a location instead of in the inner lining of the uterus. In most cases, a matter of fact 95% of all ectopic pregnancies occurs in the Fallopian tube. Some cases do occur in the ovary, cervix, and abdominal cavity.

Ectopic pregnancies occur when the fertilized egg cannot make its way through a Fallopian tube into the uterus.

Some reasons ectopic pregnancies can occur include:

•  adhesion left from surgeries can cause the tissue to bind together, thus making the Fallopian to small for the egg to enter

•  pelvic inflammation disease

•  prior ectopic pregnancy

•  a history of repeated induced abortions

•  a history of infertility problems

•  a history of medications to stimulate ovulation

•  an abnormality with the shape of the fallopian tube

The signs of ectopic pregnancy include:

•  pain on one side of your abdomen – the pain can be severe and persistent

•  Tip of the shoulder pain- this is the most common pain associated with ectopic pregnancies. The exact location of the pain is located where you glance over your left shoulder and the spot you see where the shoulder ends and the arm begins is the shoulder tip. This may be caused from internal bleeding that is irritating the diaphragm.

•  pain during passing bowels or urine

•  Feeling faint or light-headed along with paleness, increase in pulse rate, diarrhea, and falling blood pressure.

•  usual period or any vaginal bleeding

If a woman is in the childbearing years and believes that she has an ectopic pregnancy, she should visit her physician. Ectopic pregnancies are nothing you can ignore and can be fatal.
