Dyshidrotic eczema, also known as Dyshidrosis or Pompholyx, is a condition where small blisters causing intense itching develop on the limbs of a person. It is an eczema that causes blisters to appear on the hands and legs accompanied by the continuous irritation it causes.
As of now, there are no definitive causes for this disease. It is believed to be a condition caused due to the various endogenous and exogenous factors. How to identify Dyshidrotic eczema?

- The blisters that appear in the insides of the hand are usually flat footed. They rarely appear in the feet.

- The bulla is drained off the fluid with a sterile syringe and an antibiotic may be applied to reduce bacterial infection
- Steroids are a primary source of medication in treating the eczema
- Ointments or creams are applied to reduce infection and antipruritics can also be used to reduce irritation
- Oral eczema treatments including antipruritics can be used in some extreme conditions
- For some who are a subject of over-stress, some psychological treatment has found to be effective
- For some there is a need to follow a diet as they might have allergies to some food. The doctor may be able to help such people on those diet issues regrading treatment for dyshidrotic eczema
Complete bed rest is suggested for people with eczema and it is mandatory for people who are infected in the feet. Also consulting a doctor after the initial diagnosis is recommended as it might reduce complications that may occur if delayed.
