How to treat genital warts

Genital Warts are probably the most prevalent kind of warts. They are most common in teens and young adults and up to fifty percent of people in this age group have genital warts.

Genital can be difficult to detect

At times, they can be difficult to identify as they can carry many different characteristics. Many times there are no noticeable genital wart symptoms . Genital warts generally do not itch or burn and they can be very difficult to see. It is unfortunate that even when the warts are not visible, the virus that carries them (HPV) can still be passed along.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for the virus that causes genital warts. However, the individual warts can be treated.

Various treatments for genital warts available

Depending on the size and number of warts, the genital wart treatment varies. Some ointments maybe applied or used if the warts are small and few in number. If the warts are large or there are a great deal of them, the doctor you see may remove them for you using a laser or freezing technique.

Natural treatments

There are a few natural, herbal treatments for genital warts that are not one hundred percent effective but can be helpful to those who just want to make the physical appearance of the affected area better.

A lot of times, genital warts will “flare up” and then recede for several months. Keep in mind, once you have genital warts, you will always have the virus so even if you do not see or feel warts, the virus is still able to be spread.
