How to understand Asperger Syndrome
Asperger Syndrome is a neurobiological disorder with many patients having a normal IQ and will show an extraordinary skill or talent in a certain area. In a paper published by Hans Asperger, he explained that many of the young boys with Asperger Syndrome had normal intelligence and language development, but did show signs similar to that of autism in their behavior, communication skills, and social skills. Even though, Asperger published the information on the this syndrome it was not recognized until 1994 and is just now being recognized by doctors.

Treatment
At this time, since Asperger Syndrome has only been recognized recently, more research needs to be done in order to find more treatment methods as well as to learn the cause.
At this time, various treatments are used, which are aimed at improving the symptoms and functioning abilities. Working on communication skills, obsessive or repetitive routines, as well as clumsiness. Many children learn to handle their differences and can do well in society. However, moral support from family, friends, and the medication profession is necessary.
Until more research is done, children with Asperger Syndrome may not receive the help they need as many are arguing that the syndrome is nothing more than children out of control than a real medical problem that deserves the attention of the medical profession.
